Oribell has been working with Z, our 4-year-old daughter, for about 6 months now and we are very happy with her progress so far. Oribell is a very knowledgeable, resourceful, creative, and compassionate professional, from the beginning she instilled in us the confidence that we were in good hands. We have seen great improvement in Z over the past few months. Oribell has a wonderful ability to reach Z and make her feel comfortable. Z always has a great time during the sessions, which Oribell directs in a very fun manner.

 

Z is now more able to communicate what she needs/wants and feels more comfortable in the company of other kids. Her eye contact and interaction skills have improved significantly. Z has started using some words (and she also sings!) and her understanding is a lot better now. Our daughter is happier now and it brings us some much joy to see her personality. We moved to London from New York over a year ago.  One of my first hesitations about moving was finding the right speech therapist for my son who had been receiving Early Intervention in New York.  Our relocation agent suggested Oribell and how lucky were we!  Oribell is simply amazing.  She has such unique and fun ideas to do with my son. She finds fun foods to use to strengthen his mouth (jello, peanut butter, jelly, pudding, etc.) and creative toys and games to play with him.  She communicates on a regular basis with his OT, which is so beneficial to both of them as well as my son.  You will be very lucky if she works with your child.  She is terrific!!

My 3-year-old son had difficulty pronouncing certain sounds and speaking clearly after being diagnosed with chronic glue ear and impaired hearing.  Oribell assessed him and treated him weekly to address these concerns.  Within a short space of time his speech had become much clearer and his confidence had greatly increased with other children in group situations as he was easier for his friends to understand.

After 6 months’ of work he is now able to pronounce most sounds clearly.

Oribell has been our 11-year-old daughter’s speech therapist, in our case daughter’s case, on complex issues resulting from learning difficulties and language delay.

Thanks to Oribell’s working on building up of language in gradual building blocks, our daughter has made great progress in verbal sentence structure and her spoken sentences are increasingly longer. Oribell concentrates on every aspect of speech including conversational skills, organisational and planning skills, facilitating problem-solving skills, increasing phonological awareness skills and improving expressive language skills. She often uses individual topics that have captured the imagination of the child, using them as a vehicle to enthuse speech.

Last year we found out that our daughter has ASD. As a parent you want to do everything you can to help.  Oribell gave us great support and practical advice on how to tackle our daughter’s expressive and receptive language delay. Putting together simple routines that we could work through at home with Eva on her vocabulary, expression and confidence.  She took the time to observe Eva at the nursery and gave advice to her teachers. Oribell has helped us put together a multi-disciplined team of therapists that work on various aspects of Eva’s development. We started to notice a marked improvement in her speech, understanding, and eye contact within months. Our daughter is a completely different girl. She is happy, engaging, and loves other people’s company.
